Nanaimo
2023-01-30 10:24 PST
File # 2023-1280
The Nanaimo RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the individual shown in the attached photo. It is alleged that at approximately 9:30 AM on Thursday January 12, 2023, this person threw a cup of coffee (cold) at an employee of McDonald’s located on Bowen Road. The employee managed to avoid being struck by the coffee.
Police attended and were told by employees that the suspect appeared to be sleeping at one of their tables. An employee went over and knocked on the table to rouse him. The individual apparently took exception to this as he began to loudly swear at the employee. A supervisor heard the commotion and told him to leave the restaurant. The suspect approached this employee and from approximately 20 feet threw his coffee at them. The suspect then left the premises.
The suspect is described as being possibly Caucasian, 5 ft. 9, medium build, clean shaven, with short dark hair. He was wearing a light brown jacket, dark baseball cap, and was carrying a black backpack. If anyone can identify this person, please call the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345, and quote file # 2023-1280.
