Lost phone:

On September 14th at 10:12 pm, the Kitimat RCMP received a dropped 911 call from the parking lot of north Hirsch Creek trail. Upon attendance an officer located an intoxicated male laying on the ground. The male who was intoxicated stated he lost his phone on the trail. The officer suggested he look for the phone during day light and escorted the male back to his residence.

Intoxicated in Public:

On September 15th at 8:30 am, the Kitimat RCMP received a report of a male laying across Dyke Rd in the rain. The Kitimat RCMP attended and located an intoxicated male. The male was provided a ride to the city centre area so he could catch a bus to Terrace.

Assist General Public:

On September 16th at 7:00 pm, the Kitimat RCMP were contacted to check the well being of a female. The officer spoke to the complainant and conducted follow-up by attending numerous locations in Kitimat. Police were subsequently advised by a witness that the female was in Terrace. The Terrace RCMP were notified and conducted follow-up and spoke to the female.

Consume Liquor in Public:

On September 17th at 1:49 pm, while on patrol an officer observed a male drinking at the bus stop at lower City Centre mall. The officer spoke to the male and the beer can was poured out. The male was warned of the fine under the liquor control and licensing act – consume liquor in public section section 73(1) - $230.

Impaired Driving and Warrants:

On September 18th at 7:00 pm, the Kitimat RCMP received a complaint of a possible impaired driver on Smeltersite Rd. An officer conducted a vehicle stop on Lahakas Blvd. The driver was found to have outstanding unendorsed warrants and was held in cells until a bail hearing. An impaired investigation was also conducted and reading above the legal limit were obtained. A driving suspension and vehicle impoundment were issued.

Missing Child:

On September 19th 4:10 pm, the Kitimat RCMP received a report of a missing 9-year-old child who was last seen at her residence. An officer attended and was advised that the child was last seen in her bedroom earlier in the afternoon. The Kitimat RCMP conducted a search with family members. The child was located safe at approximately 6:30 pm at a friend’s residence.

Speeding on Highway 37:

On September 20th at 12:35 pm, the Kitimat RCMP received a complaint of a vehicle speeding on Highway 37. The vehicle was located by an officer and the driver was issued a violation ticket for speeding, no insurance and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
