On January 16th, 2023, Creston RCMP frontline officers located and arrested Thomas Linthorne.
Thomas Linthorne was subject to an arrest warrant and was wanted for multiple criminal offences. Through investigative techniques, frontline officers located a vehicle that was associated to Thomas Linthoorne and determined that he was hiding in a residence nearby. Officers contained the residence to ensure the safety of the neighbouring community as a priority.
Officers made contact to the residence and after negotiations, Thomas Linthorne surrendered to police and was arrested without incident. He was held in custody and brought before the courts where he was remanded into custody until his next court appearance on January 23, 2023.
Thomas Linthorne has been charged with the following offences from four different investigations, in addition to his arrest warrants:
- 4 counts of Fail to comply with probation order Section 733.1(1) C.C.
- Flight from Police while operating motor vehicle Section 320.17 C.C.
- Dangerous operation of a conveyance Section 320.13(1) C.C.
- Drive while disqualified Section 320.18(1) C.C.
- Assault Section 266 C.C.
We would like to thank the public for their ongoing commitment toward community safety. It is often the details that may seem unimportant, that contribute to locating these dangerous offenders. In my brief time here, I have seen great collaboration between Community and Police in the Creston Valley, which has led to numerous offenders being removed from our streets,
states S/Sgt. Brandon Buliziuk, Creston RCMP Detachment Commander. This has contributed to a drastic reduction in crime in the area in recent times, ultimately resulting in safer homes and safer communities. We look forward to our continued work with our Community partners, and to sustained efforts in keeping this beautiful valley safe and free of these type of offenders.
