Pedestrian hit and run

Port Alberni RCMP are asking for the public's assistance to identify the driver involved in a hit and run of a 15 year old student shortly after the youth had exited their school bus.  The incident occurred on February 21, 2024 at approximately 3:30pm at the corner of Beaver Creek Road and Smith Road.

RCMP have obtained statements from witnesses and CCTV from the area. Suspect vehicle identified as a 2022-2024 Dark Grey Hyundai Tucson. The suspect driver is a Causcasian female with light brown hair and there was a child in the passenger seat. 

Police would like the driver to contact Port Alberni RCMP directly as 250-723-2424. RCMP are confident that the driver will be identified but prefer that the driver turn themselves in.
