On the evening on May 27, 2022 Sidney North Saanich RCMP officers received a 911 call that multiple people received serious injuries by someone still inside a residence at the 10000 Block of Derrick Road, in North Saanich.

Sidney frontline Police immediately attended and forcibly entered the residence. There they located three individuals who had been stabbed multiple times. Police officers located the man believed to be responsible on scene and arrested him without incident.

Emergency first aid measures were conducted by the officers until the scene was deemed safe for BC Ambulance Paramedics. All three victims received injuries that necessitated emergency transport to hospital.

The victims are currently in serious but stable condition and are expected to survive the injuries.

Responding officers relied on their training and de-escalation skills to take this very agitated and violent individual into custody. I am grateful that all first responders acted in a professional manner to bring this very volatile situation to a safe end, Said Cpl Andres Sanchez Media Liaison with Sidney North Saanich RCMP.

There is no danger to the public and at this stage of the investigation it is believed that the man arrested is known to the victims and that this was an isolated incident.
