Fatal collision involving pedestrian Patricia Bay Highway.
 

Sidney/North Saanich RCMP frontline officers responded to the scene of a motor vehicle incident in the southbound lane of the Patricia Bay Highway south of Lands End Road on Monday, January 31, just after 10:30 am. 

Upon arrival police discovered a man who had been struck by a transport truck. Police officers, Fire Fighters, and Paramedics rendered first aid to the man but sadly, he died from the injuries received.
RCMP officers, and the BC Coroners Service are currently investigating the circumstances of this event. It is unknown at this time what brought the man to be on the highway.

"Police are asking for members of the public who witnessed the event or the man prior to incident to come forward" said Corporal Andres Sanchez with the Sidney RCMP "The operator of the transport truck is fully cooperating with the investigation

Police are asking the public for any dash cam footage which may depict the circumstances between 8:00 am and 10:45 am.
