The Kamloops RCMP Detachment responded to approximately 463 calls for service from midnight Friday Oct. 28, to 9 a.m. on Oct. 31, 2022. Below are some highlights from those reports.

Train/pedestrian collision

2022-39010

Police are investigating after a man was struck by a train early Sunday morning.

On Oct. 30, 2022, around 1:37 a.m., police received a request to assist ambulance at 3rd Avenue and Lorne Street, where a pedestrian was being transported to hospital in critical condition.

The investigation is ongoing in conjunction with the Canadian Pacific Railway Police. Anyone with information or video related to this incident is asked to please contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2022-39010.

Warrant execution

A North Shore traffic stop led to the capture of a man wanted on a Canada Border Services Agency warrant.

On Oct. 30, 2022, around 2:40 a.m., a police officer conducted a vehicle stop on a rental car near Fortune Drive and Simcoe Avenue. During the stop, the officer recognized the man to be wanted on nation-wide warrant and arrested him.

He was taken into custody to be transferred to the CBSA.

Impaired driving collision

A woman lost her license for 90 days after her vehicle struck a parked car early Sunday morning.

On Oct. 30, 2022, around 2:35 a.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers attended 6th Avenue and Douglas Street for a motor vehicle collision. As part of the investigation, police conducted roadside breath tests which registered readings of fail, indicating a blood-alcohol content exceeding .08.

A 90-day driving prohibition and 30-day vehicle impound were issued under the Motor Vehicle Act.

Impaired driving by drug

2022-39057

A call to police to assist ambulance with two unconscious people inside a car led to a vehicle impound.
On Oct. 30, 2022, around 10:40 a.m., Kamloops RCMP attended the 900-block of Tranquille Road, where a woman was unconscious in the driver’s seat and the vehicle was in reverse. Both occupants were woken without medical intervention required.

The woman was issued a 24-hour driving prohibition and the vehicle was impounded.
