The Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP Detachment is looking for more information following an investigation that led to a large police presence in Paul Lake this afternoon.
On Oct. 27, 2022, around 12:08 p.m., a member of the rural detachment was patrolling the area of Paul Lake Road and Cold Creek Road, when he observed a black truck that had been reported as stolen. As the officer approached the truck in his police vehicle, the truck rammed the cruiser, then fled up Paul Lake Road. The officer was uninjured.
Multiple officers responded, including a number of Kamloops RCMP frontline officers and the Targeted Enforcement Unit. The truck was located soon after, abandoned, near Paul Lake Road and Harper Mountain Road. With the assistance of the Police Dog Service Unit, officers searched the area, but no suspects were located.
We are releasing an image of the stolen vehicle and its license plate information in hopes that someone will recall seeing it and lead police to information or video surveillance which may help identify the suspects, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson.
Our hope is for residents to go home and review their dash cam or security footage from the day and see if there is anything present that could help further the investigation.
The truck is described as a 2022 F350, black, BC license plates ST 3345. The truck was stolen from a business on Leigh Road around 1 a.m. this morning, Oct. 27, 2022.
Anyone with information related to this investigation is asked to please contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2022-38590.
