Police investigating weekend assault report

The Kamloops RCMP Detachment is looking for anyone who witnessed or may have information related to an assault with a weapon allegation which occurred on Sunday.

On Sept. 14, 2022, police responded to the 200-block of Royal Avenue, where an ambulance was called to assist a man who reported he had been stabbed by someone three days earlier, Sept. 11. The incident occurred on the 900-block of Columbia Street West, near the stairwell to Columbia Street. No suspect description was provided.

The victim did not report the incident at the time, but eventually required medical assistance, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson. He is expected to recover from his injuries.
