
Police investigating weekend assault and kidnapping

On January 8, 2023, just after 7:30 a.m., Prince George RCMP were contacted by a man who told police he was kidnapped and assaulted earlier that morning. The man was suffering from multiple injuries.
Police officers attended a temporary structure on the 400-block of Ottawa Street where the victim stated the assault took place and located two men inside who matched the description of the suspects.
Investigators arrested 20-year-old Noah Damien Basil-Tom and 25-year-old Daryn James Middleton in relation to the incident. The men attended court and will remain in custody until their next court appearance. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of his serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries,

The B.C. Prosecution Service approved the following charges:
Noah Damien Basil-Tom
- Aggravated assault
- Kidnapping
- Forcible confinement
- Fail to comply with probation
Daryn James Middleton
- Aggravated assault
- Kidnapping
- Forcible confinement
- Fail to comply with probation
Both suspects are known to police. The file remains under investigation.
