Prince George RCMP investigating fatal fire at local hotel

On November 26, 2022, just after 11:00 p.m., Prince George RCMP attended a hotel on the 1500-block of Victoria Street for a fire in one of the hotel rooms.

When police officers arrived at the location, they were told that two people successfully escaped the fire. B.C. Emergency Health Services transported these two victims to hospital with serious injury. A third occupant was later located deceased inside the room; the identity of the deceased person has not yet been confirmed. Prince George RCMP Fire Investigators and Forensic Identification Section will be conducting their investigations in the coming days, and police will remain at the location until those investigations are complete, states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer of the Prince George RCMP.
