Coffee with a Cop coming to Prince George!

Prince George

2022-10-03 14:40 PDT

On Wednesday, October 5, 2022, Community Policing Officers from Prince George RCMP will be heading to some local coffee shops for National Coffee with a Cop day.

The first event of its kind in Prince George, this is an opportunity for people to sit down in a casual setting with a police officer and ask questions they may have about policing while enjoying their favourite beverage, compliments of the Prince George RCMP.

Cup of coffee with text "Coffee with a Cop"

This is an opportunity for those who may have questions about policing to sit with a police officer and have an informal conversation. It’s a unique way to meet with the community and get to know people better, outside of the typical situations that often bring law enforcement and community members together. The coffee shops we approached for this first round, The Open Door Café and Zoe’s Java House, were both very enthusiastic about partnering with us. We hope to run these events quarterly, utilizing interested coffee shops and cafes in a variety of locations throughout Prince George, states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.

You can find us at the following locations on October 5:

The Open Door Café
6075 Monterey Road, Prince George
9:00 a.m. – 10: 00 a.m.

Zoe’s Java House
1259 4th Avenue, Prince George
1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
