Update: Kelowna RCMP investigates stabbing that has left one man deceased

The Kelowna RCMP is investigating a stabbing that occurred last evening in which a man has died from his injuries.

At 8:45 p.m. on April 25, 2022, the Kelowna RCMP responded to multiple 9-1-1 calls regarding an injured man at the intersection of Harvey Avenue and Gordon Drive. When officers arrived on scene, they located a 38-year-old man who had sustained injuries consistent with stab wounds. He was transported to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

A 28-year-old male passer-by was also injured in this incident. He sustained a minor injury in which he was transported to the hospital where he was treated and released.

A 22-year-old man was arrested at the scene and is currently in police custody as the investigation unfolds.

The investigation is being led by the Kelowna RCMP Serious Crime Unit and investigators have learned there was a verbal altercation between the individuals involved that led to the stabbing. The victims and suspect were not known to one another, states Cpl. Tammy Lobb, Media Relations Officer for the Kelowna RCMP. We are asking anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have dash-cam footage, to come forward and call the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300.
